Team Performance Management (TPM)

Asset Record Checks

TPM brings together seven work activity types. Asset record checking (configuration items (CI's) in a configuration management database (CMDB)) is one of the seven.

This is because the accuracy of an IT asset's location and ownership, particularly of a user workstation, is a significant contributor to the health of a CMDB. In TPM, when an IT support call is taken, the IT asset can be identified as having been checked.

If asset record checking is a requirement of your job, the proportion of assets checked to the volume of tickets you raise is a performance measure available to managers. For your team, it is one of TPM's Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
