Take Time Out
This feature, available from your My Activity Dashboard, submits a note to your manager informing that you are taking a break from work. The type of break might be:
Planned - if your team is expected to notify when taking scheduled daily breaks, for instance a lunch break.
Unplanned - if you need to take a break to deal with an urgent matter.
Your manager might not always be available to speak to, so informing time out improves communication, helping managers plan breaks for the team as a whole, and to know when you might need assistance if a personal matter arises.
As with progression notes and the end-of-day (EOD) feature, informing time out prevents an inactivity note from being generated (see "Progression Notes").
